I found the receptionist very friendly and helpful. My room was basic but it was clean, which was very important to for me. The bed was fine also and the linen was immaculate. There were sufficient towels supplied. The location was perfect for me as I had 2 places to visit in Dublin and it nested nicely between the two (I went on foot). THe hotel was also handy for Heuston Station.
One small gripe was that there was no grill-like thing (I'm not sure of the proper word) in the wash hand basin and I was conscious not to take off jewellery near it for fear that they would go down the drain.
The hotel is very well placed for town as loads of buses for town stop outside . and there are lots of nice cafes and eating places just a little way from the hotel, including a full Irish breakfast for just six and a half euro insted of seven in the hotel for a lousy continental fodder. But for all that I would have no problem in Booking again as I visit Dublin every month. Also it only takes a minute to get a taxi outside. It costs about twenty two euros to get to the Airport.
Plenty of towels but only a lousy little bit of soap. No shower gell. The room was well furnished and I was pleased.
It was perfect for my requirements, which was a comfortable room for 1 night whilst visiting friends. I didn't quite understand tha parking arrangements when I first booked in but the gentleman at the desk later explained well. Good experience.
The underground car park was eerie as I arrived in late and didn't understand how it actually worked. Not for those with nervous dispositions!
Basic Travelodge - they are all the same - you know what to expect. Clean and tidy basic accommodation. For the price - good value. Friendly and helpful staff. Map of Dublin available which helped us.
The mattresses were tired - perhaps they could flip them now and the? The shower was not that great - no bath in this room. Church bell which gonged every half hour all through the night!! No parking but it was stated in the details.
I understood that it was possible to park my car, unfortunately when I arrived there were no spaces available. I was unaware it was necessary to book a space.
location, cleanliness, service, reasonable rates
The water in the shower alternated between scalding hot and icy cold unless I showered before 6 am. After that time, when others were using the system, it was almost impossible to shower.
usual travelodge comfort
The price was right and it was close enough to the main city centre.
It is a run down value hotel. Bathrooms and beds are mediocre at best.
Clean and well-equipped room with lots of storage, friendly, helpful staff, computer available in reception for internet access, close proximity to local shops, cafes and pubs, easy access to city centre by bus.
Nothing Really speccial. If you have a car, parking is going to be very difficult. I really dont recommend this hotel if you have a car. Reception or beds no speccial . Rooms are very small especially if you are going to be there more than one person. Moreover, I hated this hotel because somebody made false fire alarm around 4 am in the morning . It was a horible night. It was too loud and scarry. Everybody was looking at each other like a ghost because it was too scary moment. Around 7 am i went to check out. There is no apoligize to me about false fire alarm. Normally i shouldnt be paying for that night because i couldnt go back to sleep due to alarm. It is hard to tell but i hope none of you has this kind of story. SO basically i really dont recomment this hotel. ah by the way hotel doesnt make any breakfast. they send you a restaurant near by :P so you decide !!
Convenience of location.
1. Carpet was disgusting. 2. No cable or satellite TV - what channels there were, had poor reception. 3. With light off in the room, I could see corridor light through the surround of what I would assume is supposed to be a fire door. 4. Curtains did not close properly. 5. When I walked into the room, I thought the beds had not been made up but then realised, the duvet covers were just cheap white - which looked like sheets!
KIdly and hellping staff
My wife and I were searching for a long term rental in the rathmines area of Dublin and this hotel was perfect,
The handicap friendly room was fine but unexpected, the staf was great.
It was clean basic and beds were very comfy.
